About the Committee

Elections for committee are held at the Annual General Meeting, which coincides with the delegates meeting held in November each year.

The committee meets on the 4th Wednesday of January, March, April, June, July, September, and October.

Interested in serving on your Association committee?
Your committee is interested in hearing from any Victorian Probus members who would like to serve on the committee of the Association. Any committee applicants will need to be from Clubs that are current members of the Probus Association of Victoria. Only two club members from each club may serve on the committee at any one time. Applicants are not required to be serving members of their own club committee, but at least several years experience as a Probus club member would be preferred.

Committee service is not especially onerous. Attendance at monthly committee meetings held in January, March, April, June, July, September, and October would be necessary, coupled with attendance at meetings of delegates in February, May, August, and November. November is also the Annual General Meeting at which all committee places fall vacant. There is no committee meeting in December.  Occasional attendance at Association social functions would also be sought.

Qualifications required are a strong interest in the social side of Probus and furtherance of Probus ideals, some computer skills, and access to the internet as e-mail contact with other committee is essential.

The Association does not involve itself in the administrative or policy side of Probus. Ideally, an applicant should be willing to serve on the committee for a minimum of three years.
