Club Birthdays

It is the custom for Probus Clubs to acknowledge their month of foundation each year, usually by holding some form of celebration. This could be during the monthly members' meeting, perhaps with having a special guest speaker who might be invited to cut a birthday cake, or with a celebratory meal at the club room or at a local eatery, or maybe by organising a special outing or event.

Such celebrations may usually be quite small, but when the club has reached a significant anniversary, such as the 20th, 25th, or 30th, the celebration may be quite a major one with a special guest or major activity. Hitherto, many of these significant anniversaries have been acknowledged in the Victorian Probian and more usually after the event has taken place.

Your Association would like to publish a listing of these major anniversaries for the benefit of the Probus community at large, and will update these around every month. We are commencing with February and March. Thus clubs are aware of these anniversaries before they are due to happen and not when they have become history. It might also be another club in your locality, and your club would like to acknowledge it in some way.

By publishing these dates, the PAV committee acknowledges and congratulates the committees and membership of these clubs on their significant anniversary.
